On the 30th March Tarisiro Fundira hosted a charity bake sale to raise funds for the volunteers who will be working with the Bridges to Prosperity charity this summer in Rwanda!
He was inspired to support this cause after learning about the vital infrastructure work that Bridges to Prosperity does. Building bridges provides access to education, healthcare, and other essential services that can help improve the quality of life for those living in isolated areas. He knew that he wanted to make a difference, so he decided to host a bake sale to raise funds for his volunteer work with the charity.
To make the bake sale a success, he was assisted by Ahmed Al-Suleihi, Kate Armstrong, Mavis Liew, Nicola, and Wiam, who all generously provided a variety of tasty treats to sell. From meringue pie to decadent brownies and a cheesecake , there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The response to the bake sale was overwhelming, and we managed to raise a significant amount of money that will go towards my travel to Rwanda, accommodation, and expenses while in the country. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a difference and help me deliver civil engineering necessities for those who need them most.
Hosting a charity bake sale was not only a way to raise funds, but it was also a great way to bring the Mott MacDonald Sheffield office together. People of all ages came to support the cause, and it was heartwarming to see how the power of baked goods can make a positive impact on people's lives.
By coming together as a community, we can make a real difference in the world and help those who are less fortunate. Thank you to everyone who supported my bake sale and helped me raise funds for my volunteer work with Bridges to Prosperity.
